A Royal Fashion Shoot: Capturing the Aristocratic Beauty of Parisian Victorian Dresses from 1862

The Parisian Victorian era of 1868 was elegant and sophisticated, with intricate lace and embroidery adorning the day’s clothing. It was a time of decadence and beauty, and it is no surprise that these dresses have been inspiring fashion designers for centuries.
International photographer Kristian Aguiar has recently taken inspiration from this era and created a stunning collection of photographs featuring three models wearing exquisite Parisian Victorian dresses from 1868. The fashion of the era was heavily influenced by the French court and aristocracy, with long, flowing gowns and intricate details such as lace and embroidery.

The silhouettes of the dresses were often quite voluminous, with puffed sleeves and full skirts. The fabrics were also high quality, with luxurious silks, velvets, and brocades being popular. The atmosphere of the shoot was nothing short of magical, with a classic old sofa and intricately designed lace fabric curtains providing the perfect backdrop for the models’ gracefully posed figures. The colors of their dresses blended perfectly, with black, light blue, and pink hues, offset by the gentle hint of gold on the light blue dress.

Furthermore, each model wore a beautiful headpiece to complement their looks, such as an antique black hat for the model wearing the black dress, a crown for the model wearing the light blue dress, and a pink curly wig for the model wearing the fluffy pink dress.  Kristian Aguiar’s pictures capture the beauty of the era and provide a glimpse at what fashion was like many years ago. It demonstrates his unique vision, allowing viewers to get lost in sophistication and elegance.

Introducing beauty that transcends time and culture enables us to appreciate the beauty of a woman, no matter the era or trend.  The viewer can almost feel the delicate fabrics and embroidery of the garments caressing their skin as they gaze upon the images. It also encourages us to imagine ourselves in these clothes, to gently move around in them, and experience the timelessness of femininity.
