Best Netflix Movies to Watch in April 2023

Netflix has an endless supply of quality movies, both obscure gems, and critically acclaimed hits. Whether you’re looking for a comedy that will make you laugh till you weep or a tragic drama that will make you cry for a different cause, this article will help you make the right choice. To aid your quest, we have produced a list of the top films streaming on Netflix.

The Strays (2023)

The Strays, written and directed by Nathaniel Martello-White, is a smart movie that takes a fresh look at issues of privilege and bias. The Strays is a riveting psychological drama, similarly set in a seemingly perfect suburban town, and has been compared favorably to Get Out for its effective use of tension. Ashley Madekwe portrays Neve, a mother, and wife who has created a falsely ideal life for herself. The Strays follows Neve as her life falls apart at the mysterious sight of strangers invading her fragile facade, prompting questions about her sanity and reality.

Chupa (2023)

Chupa, directed by Jonás Cuarón, is a charming family film. Action, adventure, and charming whimsy await in Chupa, starring Evan Whitten as Alex, a young boy who encounters a weird mythical monster while visiting his relatives in Mexico. Chupa, starring Christian Slater and Demián Bichir, is a heartwarming mystery that succeeds on both counts. Chupa is a new Mexican film with a worldwide theme of love and family, much like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. The Chupacabra is a cute CGI creation, comparable in appeal to Gremlins or Stitch from Lilo & Stitch.

Murder Mystery 2 (2023)

Murder Mystery 2 reunites Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston for a third film as they play a husband-and-wife detective duo struggling to stay in business. Other cast members, such as Adeel Akhtar as The Maharajah and John Kani as Colonel Ulenga, join Sandler and Aniston in reprising their roles from the first film. In Jeremy Garelick’s Murder Mystery 2, Nick and Audrey are thrown into a new mystery when the Maharaja is abducted from his lavish wedding. Murder Mystery 2 is a lighthearted home sequel adventure with Adam Sandler’s trademark silly comedy and recurring characters.

Furies (2023)

The 2019 film Furie by Veronica Ngo is followed up by the gritty Furies. In this exciting Vietnamese picture, which may be seen as a prologue, we follow the three tough vigilantes, who undergo training to exact retribution on a criminal underworld that abuses women. Furies, written and directed by Ngo and starring Dong Anh Quynh, Toc Tien, Thuan Nguyen, and Song Luan, expertly and stylishly transports viewers to Saigon in the early 1990s. Furies’s deep narrative delves into the psychological toll a corrupt organization has on its victims and the resolve that compels these brave warriors to put everything on the line.

The Magician’s Elephant (2023)

The Magician’s Elephant is a funny and inspiring tale about fortitude in the face of the impossible, adapted from Kate DiCamillo’s amazing novel. Peter (Noah Jupe), a young orphan, undertakes to accomplish Herculean acts when a fortune teller tells him he must follow a magical elephant to be reunited with his sister. To help him accomplish these enormous tasks, he is surrounded by a fantastic ensemble of characters with equally impressive voice talents.
