At the beginning of our interview, our esteemed and elegant guest introduced herself by saying that she is of Iraqi origin and a jewelry designer. When asked about how she ventured into the world of jewelry and amber, our guest explained that she decided to start a jewelry company three years ago. The idea came to her five years ago when she was in Germany with some relatives. Her cousin gifted her a gold necklace studded with amber and told her that it would make her feel beautiful and comfortable, especially since it would make her feel like she was in her home country of Iraq, where it is a tradition for Iraqi women to wear amber-studded jewelry. Indeed, she found herself feeling comfortable, happy, and full of positive energy. That step was her first toward the world of jewelry, eventually turning into a business.
Our guest explained that amber is a resinous substance found in pine trees that fossilizes due to the climate. It has many benefits and acquires some qualities of a gemstone. Many loyal customers testify to the numerous secrets of amber, as it suits all age groups, skin tones, and colors, and is suitable for both women and men. Another interesting fact is that amber matches all zodiac signs and weather conditions, providing a person with incredible positive energy and enhancing self-confidence. It also has medical benefits, such as helping to relieve wound pain and teething pain in infants.

Regarding the success of selling amber-studded jewelry in the United States, our guest said she is happy to have ventured into the business world with this product. Basma explained that it’s important to distinguish between real and manufactured amber, which can be done easily because the fake kind loses its original color quickly and loses its luster, especially under heat, and also in terms of smell, as real amber has a pleasant aroma.
In this context, our guest stated that she is committed to using the best types of amber, especially since her company is pioneering and registered. Over three years, they have built a good reputation. She said, “We received a high appreciation certificate from government authorities in recognition of our quality services and products recently.”

She emphasizes that she does not have enough time to waste on such individuals because she focuses on her work, success, and goals.
When asked about balancing her professional success with her family and social life, our guest said she has been aware of the need for this balance from the beginning and has worked to achieve it between her profession and her family.
Regarding the presence of her home country, Iraq, in her designs, our guest said she loves Iraq, which is evident in many of her works. She draws inspiration from its history and rich traditions in many designs, especially since many of her customers in America are of Iraqi origin and request designs with an Iraqi spirit.
Our guest assures that every design she creates has a story and a tale behind it, with secrets known to some and unknown to others. Basma Al-Agha revealed an interesting secret, saying that one of the necklaces she made was specially designed for a famous person in America.
Finally, our guest called for the solidarity of expatriate Arab women in America to collectively reach the shore of success and achieve all dreams because every expatriate Arab woman has the right to succeed and prove herself. She added that if it weren’t for her desire to succeed in a special and amazing way, she wouldn’t have chosen to live abroad in the first place.
