Things to do in Houston During this Festive

Houston is always packed with tons of enjoyment sites and events that you cannot get bored of if you choose the city as your festive destination. Even the Texas residents have limitless reasons to choose to be around Houston as their destination of choice for this holiday celebrations. There are a couple of reasons that will convince you into spending time in Houston with your loved ones, as explained below:

Zoo Lights at the Medica Center

You can stroll at the Houston Zoo with your loved ones during this beloved annual event. The grounds are illuminated with countless eco-friendly LED lights. Take selfies in the giant ice throne, have a chat with Candy the Zoo Light Zebra, and share your wish list with Santa as you experience a bit of snowfall which is a rarity in Houston and the entire state.

We chose this recommendation because it is recognized as one of the country’s best holiday lights displays and the longstanding favorite for Houston, especially with families.

Houston Ballet at Theatre District

Take your time and visit Worthan Theater Center in downtown Houston where Stanton Welch’s production of the Nutcracker takes to the stage. The entire Houston Ballet Houston company brings to the stage with the Houston Ballet Academy students to give life to this holiday tale.

We highly recommend this in your list of things to do in Houston this festive because it is an all-time favorite for families that have experienced it for many years.

Discovery Green Park

Although the city might have an average high of 63 degrees in the month of December, it is not a reason that visitors and the locals do not hit the ice. The Kinder Lake boat basin in Discovery Green transforms into an exciting outdoor rink for skating around the year. Your proceeds will go down to the Discovery Green Conservancy that will help maintain the park and fund free activities throughout the year. We recommend this destination among one of the only places in Houston that give you a true winter feeling even during the warmest days of the winter.

Old-time Christmas Tree Farm

For nature lovers and those who enjoy the green environment, we encourage you to visit Houston for an old-time Christmas tree from Cypress. You will be given a saw and measuring sticks to select and cut fresh trees, which will last longer and shed fewer needles. The Park also operates a pumpkin park in the fall.
We recommended this area because of the smell and experience that the freshly cut Christmas tree will bring to you and your loved ones.

German Christmas Market

The open-air German Christmas Market & Festive is located in Tomball, Texas, just outside Houston. The venue features three stages that include live music performances over 200 street vendors who sell arts and strolling holiday carolers. You can buy tons of German heritage items and crafts here. More interesting is the fact that shuttle services, admission, and parking are all free. We recommend this destination because it will give you a European-style Christmas market that includes German food that doesn’t leave behind the Houston area.
